Fiona & John’s Ballyvolane House Wedding

wedding day

An Autumn Ballyvolane House Wedding tends to be a regular enough affair for me at times. Quite often I find myself at photographing weddings there during the latter part of the year. For whatever reason. And I find the drive through the east part of Cork so very enjoyable. It is a remote spot and feels very intimate and very exclusive.

The Autumn may well just be my favorite time of the year when it comes to photographing weddings. Certainly there is a lovely cool feel in the air, and the subsequent images can carry certain tone and mood. as it was for Fiona & John’s wedding at Ballyvolane House.

Like any country house wedding there’s a calmness in the air as the day builds momentum. The mood ebbing and flowing as the ceremony time draws near. Of course it can be the young guests, the kids, that find the day most exciting. They moving throughout the house having fun as part of the build up.

Before the ceremony itself, Fiona and John passed gifts in a candid manner and that moment was very palpable, and a lovely moment. They never saw each other and I could sense a hint of nervousness, as it should be.

And while the Autumn air was cool, the ceremony was held outdoors. And to be honest it was very refreshing and so very atmospheric. I could imagine it any other way. But as the clouds parted it allowed guests to enjoy the day outdoors and enjoy the sporadic rays of sun shining down. I always enjoy how the mood changes from a tentative one to one of fun and excitement post ceremony. It’s a part of the job that can be very rewarding. Capturing these emotions through sheer observation as the day progresses at its own pace.

So, enjoy this Autumn Wedding at Ballyvolane House.
